Yehoshua Hana Ravnitzky

Yehoshua Hana Ravnitzky (1859–1944) was a prominent editor, publisher, and compiler of Jewish texts, best known for his collaboration with Hayyim Nahman Bialik. Born in the Russian Empire, Ravnitzky was deeply involved in the Zionist movement and the project of reviving Hebrew as a modern, living language. He worked closely with Bialik on several key projects, including the compilation of the monumental 'Sefer HaAggadah' (The Book of Legends), which is a central repository of Jewish folklore and rabbinic teachings. Ravnitzky's contributions were crucial in preserving Jewish heritage and making it accessible to the Hebrew-speaking public. His editorial skills and deep knowledge of Jewish texts helped ensure that these traditions would be passed on to future generations.
