At Pomeranz Bookseller, our customer service isn’t just what we’re known for best–it’s a point of pride, and we aim for a high standard in our Customer Associates.

We’re looking for a warm, friendly, and flexible team player to join our bookstore as a sales associate and cashier. This role is about more than just ringing up books — it’s about creating a welcoming environment and helping customers feel at home.

As a small, family-owned and family-oriented business, we value flexibility and collaboration. While you'll have clear responsibilities, we also support each other across roles — from customer communications to keeping our workspace in great shape. ___

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist customers in a friendly and respectful way
  • Handle sales, returns, and payments at the register
  • Suggest book recommendations or direct customers to what they’re looking for
  • Keep the front area tidy and inviting
  • Help with other store tasks during quieter hours (inventory, organizing shelves, labeling, etc.)

Must be...

  • Friendly and personable — someone who makes others feel good
  • Team player who’s willing to jump into different tasks when needed
  • Fluent in English and some conversational Hebrew
  • Responsible and reliable with good attention to detail
  • Comfortable dressing according to the sensibilities of the religious community.

Nice to have

  • Some Retail or Bookstore experience
  • Fluent in Hebrew
  • Passion for books or Jewish Learning
  • Familiarities with cash registers or POS systems
