Yoel Hoffmann
Yoel Hoffmann, born in 1937 in Brasov, Romania, is an Israeli author and translator known for his unique blend of Eastern philosophy and Western literary techniques. Hoffmann immigrated to Israel at a young age and has spent much of his career exploring the intersection of different cultural and philosophical traditions. His works often reflect a deep engagement with Zen Buddhism, which he intertwines with a distinctly Israeli narrative style. Hoffmann is also a professor emeritus of Japanese poetry, Buddhism, and philosophy at the University of Haifa.
