Shlomo Ganzfried

Rabbi Shlomo Ganzfried was a Hungarian Orthodox rabbi and a renowned posek (decisor of Jewish law). He was born in 1804 in Ungvár, then part of the Kingdom of Hungary (now Uzhhorod, Ukraine). Ganzfried is best known for his work 'Kitzur Shulchan Aruch,' a summary of Jewish law, which became a highly influential guide for Jewish practice amongst Ashkenazi Jews. His works reflect a deep commitment to both the practical and spiritual aspects of Jewish law, aiming to make complex legal rulings accessible to the general public.
