R Yehudah Leib Halevi Ashlag
Rabbi Yehuda Leib Halevi Ashlag, also known as Baal HaSulam for his magnum opus, 'The Sulam' (Ladder) commentary on The Book of Zohar, was a renowned Kabbalist born in Warsaw, Poland in 1884. He moved to Israel in the 1920s where he continued his scholarly and spiritual work, focusing on the teachings of Kabbalah and its dissemination. His writings emphasize the importance of combining spiritual knowledge with ethical behavior and social justice, which he believed were essential for the spiritual redemption of humanity.
