Yehuda Ashlag
Rabbi Yehuda Ashlag, also known as Baal HaSulam for his major work, 'The Sulam' (Ladder) commentary on The Book of Zohar, was a renowned Kabbalist born in Warsaw, Poland in 1884. He moved to Israel in the 1920s where he continued his scholarly work in Kabbalah, focusing on the intersection of mysticism and practicality. His writings attempt to explain complex kabbalistic concepts in a clear and accessible manner, aiming to bring the study of Kabbalah to a broader audience. Ashlag's work emphasizes the themes of unity and altruism, and he is considered one of the most important Kabbalists of the twentieth century.
