Rabbi Yehoshua Neuwirth

Rabbi Yehoshua Neuwirth (1927-2013) was a prominent Orthodox rabbi and a leading authority on Jewish law, particularly in the areas of Shabbat and Jewish medical ethics. He studied under some of the most respected rabbis of the 20th century, including Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Auerbach, and he became known for his scholarly works that address complex issues of Halacha (Jewish law) in modern life. His most famous work, 'Shemirat Shabbat Kehilchata', is a comprehensive guide to the laws of Shabbat, and has been widely acclaimed and used in Jewish homes and educational institutions around the world.
