Johann G. Gichtel

Johann Georg Gichtel (1638–1710) was a German mystic and religious leader, best known as the founder of the Angelic Brethren, an ascetic community. Gichtel was heavily influenced by the works of Jakob Boehme and emphasized a life of poverty, chastity, and obedience to the inner guidance of the Holy Spirit. His interpretations and teachings have been preserved in several writings, which continue to be studied by those interested in Christian mysticism and theosophy.
