Yosef Hayyim

Yosef Hayyim (1835-1909) was a prominent Iraqi rabbi, posek, and hakham. He is best known for his work on Halakha (Jewish law), primarily his book 'Ben Ish Hai'. The book is a comprehensive guide to Jewish law and ethics, and it is still widely studied and respected in Jewish communities worldwide. Yosef Hayyim was born in Baghdad, where he spent most of his life. He was recognized from a young age for his exceptional intellect and piety. Throughout his life, he wrote extensively on Jewish law, mysticism, and philosophy, and his works continue to influence many in the Sephardic community.
