Avigdor Hameiri

Avigdor Hameiri (born Avigdor Feuerstein in 1890 in Carpathian Ruthenia, Austro-Hungarian Empire, died 1970 in Israel) was a Hebrew writer, poet, playwright, and journalist. Born into a Jewish family, Hameiri experienced the horrors of World War I, which deeply influenced his literary work. After the war, he emigrated to Mandatory Palestine in 1921, where he became a significant figure in the Hebrew literary scene. His writings often reflect his experiences in the war and his Zionist ideologies.
