Lili Meier

Lili Meier was a Holocaust survivor and the only known person to have retrieved her photographs from Auschwitz after the war. She was deported to Auschwitz in 1942 from the Lodz Ghetto in Poland. After surviving the Holocaust, she emigrated to the United States where she later discovered the Auschwitz Album in her belongings, recognizing herself and others in the photographs. Lili Meier's efforts to preserve and share these images have provided a unique and personal glimpse into the realities of the Holocaust.
