Joe Kubert

Joe Kubert was an iconic American comic book artist and writer, born on September 18, 1926, in Southeast Poland and raised in Brooklyn, New York. He is best known for his work on the DC Comics characters Hawkman and Sgt. Rock, as well as founding The Kubert School, a school dedicated to cartoon and graphic art. Kubert's career in comics began in the early 1940s, and he quickly became known for his distinctive style, characterized by dynamic and expressive storytelling. Throughout his career, Kubert worked on a wide range of genres and titles, contributing significantly to the medium of comic books. His work has been influential in shaping the style and direction of American comic books, particularly in the genres of war and adventure comics. Joe Kubert passed away on August 12, 2012, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire artists and writers within the comic book industry.
