Dave Barry

Dave Barry is a Pulitzer Prize-winning American author and columnist, who wrote a nationally syndicated humor column for the Miami Herald from 1983 to 2005. He has written numerous books of humor and parody, as well as comedic novels. Barry's writing style is characterized by humorous, often exaggerated observations on life that are witty and broadly appealing. His column was immensely popular, leading to several collections of his writings being published.

Born on July 3, 1947, in Armonk, New York, Barry attended Pleasantville High School and later earned a Bachelor's degree in English from Haverford College. After college, he worked as a copy editor at the Associated Press's Philadelphia bureau before joining the Miami Herald. His work has earned him a devoted readership and numerous awards, including the Pulitzer Prize for Commentary in 1988.

Aside from his column and books, Barry has also been involved in various other media projects. He played a lead role in creating the television show 'Dave's World,' which was based on his books. He has made numerous appearances on television talk shows and continues to write new books and participate in speaking engagements across the country.
