David Landau

David Landau was an influential British-Israeli journalist and editor, known for his critical stance on Israeli policies and his advocacy for a liberal, pluralistic Israel. Born in the United Kingdom in 1947, Landau moved to Israel in 1970. He studied at both Harvard University and the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, where he deepened his knowledge of Middle Eastern politics and history.

Landau's journalistic career included significant stints at some of Israel's leading newspapers. He served as the editor-in-chief of Haaretz, one of Israel's most prominent newspapers, from 2004 to 2008. During his tenure, he was known for his fearless journalism and was committed to providing a platform for diverse voices within Israeli society. He also worked for The Jerusalem Post and was a correspondent for The Economist.
