R. Eliezer Papo
Rabbi Eliezer Papo was a prominent Sephardic rabbi and ethical writer in the 19th century, born in 1785 in Sarajevo, then part of the Ottoman Empire. He is best known for his work 'Pele Yoetz', an ethical guide which is highly regarded in Jewish literature for its insights and practical advice on Jewish law and ethics. Rabbi Papo was dedicated to the spiritual welfare of the Jewish community, and his writings reflect a deep understanding of the Torah and Talmud, along with a strong emphasis on personal piety and humility.
