Central Conference of American Rabbis
The Central Conference of American Rabbis (CCAR) is the principal organization of Reform Jewish rabbis in the United States and Canada. Founded in 1889, the CCAR is the oldest and largest rabbinic organization in the world. Its members lead Reform congregations, which represent the largest Jewish denomination in the United States. The CCAR provides religious, ethical, and social leadership to the Reform Movement and the broader Jewish community, and it has been instrumental in developing Reform Judaism into a dynamic and evolving religious movement.
