Haim Yosef David Azulai

Haim Yosef David Azulai, commonly known as the Hida (1724-1806), was a prolific Sephardic rabbi, traveler, and bibliographer. Born in Jerusalem, he is renowned for his works on Jewish law, history, and ethics. The Hida's extensive travels through Europe and North Africa enabled him to meet numerous scholars and collect a vast number of manuscripts, significantly contributing to his scholarly work. His writings, which blend Kabbalistic and rabbinic methodologies, continue to influence Jewish thought.
