Judah Leon Magnes

Judah Leon Magnes was an American rabbi and a prominent advocate for Jewish rights. Born in 1877 in San Francisco, he became a leading figure in the Reform Judaism movement and was deeply involved in humanitarian and political causes. Magnes was a key proponent of a binational solution in Palestine, advocating for peaceful coexistence between Jews and Arabs. He co-founded the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and served as its first chancellor, contributing significantly to cultural and educational development in the region.
