Adolfo de Castro

Adolfo de Castro y Rossi (1823-1898) was a Spanish historian, literary critic, and politician. Born in Cádiz, Spain, he was a prolific writer and intellectual who contributed significantly to the 19th-century Spanish literature and historiography. Castro was known for his works on Spanish and Andalusian history, and he was also involved in politics, serving as the mayor of Cádiz and as a member of the Spanish parliament. His literary works often focused on recovering and editing forgotten manuscripts and texts from Spanish literature.
