Kurt Gödel

Kurt Gödel was an Austrian-American logician, mathematician, and philosopher considered to be one of the most significant logicians in history. Born on April 28, 1906, in Brünn, Austria-Hungary (now Brno, Czech Republic), he made an immense impact on scientific and philosophical thinking in the 20th century, with his most celebrated achievement being his incompleteness theorems. Gödel's work has had profound implications for the philosophy of mathematics and is widely regarded as a monumental contribution to logic and the foundations of mathematics. He spent the latter part of his career at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, New Jersey, where he continued his research until his mental health issues affected his work.
