Michael Connelly

Michael Connelly is an American author of detective novels and other crime fiction, notably those featuring LAPD Detective Hieronymus 'Harry' Bosch and criminal defense attorney Mickey Haller. Connelly is a bestselling author, with his books sold in more than 40 languages and over 60 million copies. Born on July 21, 1956, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he moved to Florida with his family when he was 12 years old. Connelly graduated from the University of Florida in 1980 with a degree in journalism. After graduation, he worked at newspapers in Daytona Beach and Fort Lauderdale, Florida, primarily specializing in the crime beat. In 1986, he and two other reporters spent several months interviewing survivors of a major airline crash, a story that Connelly has said inspired him to write his first novel.
