Jonathan Schanzer

Jonathan Schanzer is a prominent American scholar who specializes in Middle Eastern politics and terrorism. He is currently the Senior Vice President for Research at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, a non-partisan policy institute based in Washington, D.C. Schanzer has testified before Congress and publishes widely in the American and international media on issues related to the Middle East.

Before joining the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, Schanzer worked as a terrorism finance analyst at the U.S. Department of the Treasury, where he played an integral role in identifying and analyzing threats to the U.S. financial system posed by terrorism networks.
