Rabbi Jonathan P. Slater DMin

Rabbi Jonathan P. Slater, DMin, is a senior program director and core faculty member at the Institute for Jewish Spirituality. He co-directs the Clergy Leadership Program and teaches in various other programs. Rabbi Slater focuses on integrating mindfulness with Jewish spirituality, aiming to enrich spiritual life through the wisdom of Jewish traditions and mindfulness practices.

He graduated from the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College and earned his Doctor of Ministry at the Pacific School of Religion. Rabbi Slater has a deep interest in Hasidic spirituality and its potential to invigorate modern Jewish practice. His work often explores the intersection of Kabbalah and contemporary spiritual life, aiming to make these ancient teachings accessible and relevant to today's seekers.

Rabbi Slater is also an author of several works that delve into Jewish spirituality and mindfulness. His writings emphasize practical applications of Jewish mystical teachings and the development of a personal spiritual practice. He is dedicated to fostering spiritual growth and compassionate practice among individuals and communities, drawing heavily on the teachings of R. Levi Yitzhak of Berdichev.
