Joseph Friedenson
Joseph Friedenson was a prominent figure in Holocaust historiography and Jewish publishing. Born in 1922 in Lodz, Poland, he experienced the horrors of the Holocaust firsthand, surviving several concentration camps including Auschwitz and Buchenwald. After the war, he immigrated to the United States where he became an influential voice in the Orthodox Jewish community.
In America, Friedenson dedicated himself to Holocaust education and memory, working as an editor for the 'Dos Yiddishe Vort', a Yiddish-language Orthodox Jewish magazine. His work in journalism and publishing extended over several decades, during which he contributed to preserving the history and testimonies of Holocaust survivors.
