Harry M OrlinskySynopsis
The "Israel Exploration Journal Reader" is an anthology of selected essays and articles chosen, by Harry M. Orlinsky, from Volumes 1-25 of the "Israel Exploration Journal," which debuted in 1950-51. The largest sections here are: "Archaeology, Historical Geography, and History" and "Inscriptions - Epigraphy." Indeed, along with "Coins" and "Seals - Stamps - Bullae," these epigraphic and non-inscriptional documents constitute virtually two-thirds of the "Reader." (135 items out of a total of 208). Plus, the addition of the Indexes to vols. 1-10 and 11-20 at the end of the "Reader" is an extra boon to the reader.
