Gary Shteyngart

Gary Shteyngart was born Igor Semyonovich Shteyngart in Leningrad, Soviet Union, in 1972. He immigrated to the United States in 1979 and later changed his first name to Gary. He is a graduate of Oberlin College in Ohio, where he earned a degree in politics. Shteyngart also attended the City University of New York's Hunter College, where he studied creative writing.

Shteyngart is a critically acclaimed author known for his satirical and humorous writing style. His works often explore themes of immigration, identity, and the complexities of American and Russian culture.
