William Kent Krueger

William Kent Krueger is an acclaimed American author of mystery and crime novels, widely known for his Cork O'Connor series. Born in 1950 in Wyoming, USA, Krueger was raised in Oregon and later moved to Minnesota, where he currently resides. His work is heavily influenced by his Midwestern surroundings and often features vivid descriptions of Minnesota's landscape and culture.

Krueger began his career as a freelance writer and eventually turned to novel writing. His first novel, 'Iron Lake', was published in 1998 and marked the debut of his popular character, Cork O'Connor, a former sheriff turned private investigator. This series has garnered him several awards, including the prestigious Edgar Award for Best Novel.

Apart from the Cork O'Connor series, Krueger has also written standalone novels, including 'This Tender Land' and 'Ordinary Grace', which won the Edgar Award for Best Novel in 2014.
